Aaron Brown began as an independent booth renter at his sister’s shop. Over time, he was able to reinvent Razors Image in 2011. Since, the shop has doubled, rebranded and developed, and completed a unique merge with his sister’s shop, Angela’s Ebony Designs and Barbershop. The shop has been under Aaron's ownership for 11 years, he has been a barber for 22 years, and a licensed educator in the field for nearly a decade. Questions & AnswersWhat motivated you to start your own business? How did you develop the skills to start your own business? My wife pushed me to open my own business. I earned licenses in Cosmetology, Barbering, and Instruction. What inspires your work and what sets you apart from everyone else? I’m inspired to work because it’s my favorite thing to do. It’s my passion. I love making my business stand out in the community. We strive to put clients first in a way that creates a top notch quality experience, not just a haircut. We can provide hair and scalp education and problem-solving products for maximum benefit to compliment our services. Have you won any awards or had any special recognition or acknowledgement of your business? I'm a 3rd place National ranking barber in the Wahl Clipper Competition. This took place early June in Orlando, FL. What has been your biggest success to date? I feel my biggest success is creating a safe, multicultural, safe space for all where clients can get excellent services, industry professionals can grow, and great conversations are had by all. What has been your biggest challenge? My biggest challenge is finding the right combination of staff to fit the brand. The dynamic has to be just right for the atmosphere to be spot on for our clients. What are your plans for the future of your business? In the future we want to continue to explore other ways to solve common hair and scalp problems, especially specific to this region with hard water.
