On Thursday, April 21, 2022, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held it's annual PrimeTime Business Expo at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. PrimeTime Business Expo is a business expo, where Chamber members can set-up tables and booths with information and merchandise to engage community and Chamber members and the monthly Business After Hours, where Chamber members can network and interact! PrimeTime is one of the most well-attended events on the Chamber calendar, typically seeing over 500 guests throughout the evening. This year, we had three vendors in our 21+ Lounge: Bloomington Brewing Company, Cardinal Spirits, and Upland Brewing Company; seven food trucks: Big D's BBQ, Bloom Burger, BloomingBowls, Great White Shark, JD's Taste of Chicago, Pili's Party Taco, and Serena's Food Hut; and over 80 vendors, and hundreds of community members in attendance. Brother William Morris, from WFIU's Soul Kitchen, was our emcee for the evening. There were TONS of prizes donated from our Chamber members for our raffle that evening. Thank you to all who attended and to our sponsors for making this event possible. Our sponsors included: B97, Master Rental, the Monroe County Fair Association, IU Health, The Herald-Times, IU Credit Union, Baxter BioPharma Solutions, Building Associates, the Monroe County YMCA, Office Easel, FASTSIGNS, MSI, Ivy Tech Community College, JB Salvage, Peoples State Bank, and German American Bank. From that job, she worked her way through the company to end her career with Smithville Communications as the Operations Manager Telecom Residential and Business Solutions. After leaving Smithville Communications, Janie went back to school and received her certification in Project Management. It was at the end of this schooling that John Bethell contacted Janie and offered her the opportunity to be part of a new background screening company. Today Janie is the owner of JB Screening Partners, Inc. “And as they say… the rest is yet to come,” she said.
