The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held it's Health & Business event on November 14th at One World at Woolery Mill. Health experts including Pam Pontones, MA, Douglas Huntsinger, and Lindsey Potts, MSW, LCSW, delved into the emerging public health challenges that Hoosier communities are facing today. They provided valuable insights on how the State of Indiana is working to deliver public health outcomes that support and strengthen our local communities. Check out photos from the event below! On Thursday, November, 2023, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Bloomington Rotary and the Indiana University Kelley School of Business Research Center held the annual Futurecast event at the Monroe Convention Center. Each November a panel from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business presents their knowledge and insight on local state, federal, and international economies. The Kelley School of Business, based on research from its Indiana Business Research Center, has been sharing its economic forecasts throughout the state of Indiana for the past 50 years, which has provided crucial economic information needed by many Indiana businesses, government, and nonprofit organizations. This event gives the audience a chance to hear and interact with several of the state's leading economic thinkers as they discuss how the changing economic environment will affect the local region, Indiana, and the nation in the coming year. The panelists provide insights into key economic indicators such as GDP growth, inflation, interest rates, employment, and industry trends. Panelists evaluate the overall business environment and consider the factors that may shape the economy and financial markets over the next year. Close to 800 7th graders engaged with 46 local businesses and organizations to explore careers available to them right here in Monroe County! Many thanks to everyone involved--teachers, counselors, and administration at MCCSC, exhibitors, the team at Monroe Convention Center, and volunteer 'deckhands' from the Academy of Science & Entrepreneurship! On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held the Bloomington Women in Leadership event Combatting Imposter Syndrome at the Monroe Convention Center.
