For over two decades, The Chamber’s Success School has championed excellence in education with the annual awards ceremony, which recognizes the best teachers and programs in accredited schools across Monroe County. This year eight educators, one educational program, and one lifetime achievement recipient were honored in a community celebration at the 22nd Annual Educator of the Year Awards held on the evening of Thursday, March 2nd, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ivy Tech Community College – Bloomington, Shreve Hall. The program featured student-led entertainment with a performance from the cast of “Into the Woods” from Bloomington High School South. On Friday, November 4th at Ivy Tech ICLS, the Success School held its annual Life Sciences and STEM Career Fair. Over 260 students attended from Edgewood Jr. High School, Bloomington High School North, The Academy of Science and Entrepreneurship, and Jackson Creek Middle School. 28 local STEM and Life Sciences businesses and educators talked with students about the plentiful opportunities in their career field and engaged students in fun, interactive activities! We would like to thank our sponsors for making this event possible. Thank you to Baxter BioPharma Solutions, Cook Medical Group, IU Credit Union, Ivy Tech Community College, IU Health, Chase, Singota, Tasus, and Indiana University. On Friday, March 11th, The Success School hosted a Reality Store® for Tri-North Middle School. The Reality Store® is a simulation that helps junior high students appreciate the ‘realities’ of life and achieve a better understanding of personal finance. In the Reality Store® simulation, junior high students pretend they are a 28-year-old starting out in their life and career. See photos of how this Reality Store® went! The Chamber's Foundation, The Success School, held its annual STEM & Life Sciences Career Fair on Tuesday, November 9th hosted by Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington Cook Center. The Career Fair was held through Zoom and the videos will be held through The Success School's YouTube. The Success School thanks its sponsors, Cook Group, Indiana University, Chase Bank, Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington, and IU Credit Union.
