​Alexis Green, Owner and Esthetician at Orchids Esthetics, started her business in June 2019. Orchid Esthetics offers results-driven facials and chemical peels, as well as full body waxing, lash lifts and tints, and brow tints. Orchid is perfect for those looking to improve their skin concerns, including signs of aging, acne, and sensitivity. Orchid Esthetics is a women-owned and Latin/Latina/Latinx/Hispanic-owned Chamber member business.

Alexis has several years’ experience in customer service. She graduated school for Esthetics in 2016, and worked for Ulta and Massage Envy as an esthetician.

Question & Answers:

What motivated you to start your own business? How did you develop the skills to start your own business?
As an esthetician, I found there were many skills that I was qualified to perform that were not being utilized at other businesses. I believe my years in customer service helped me develop the skills to open on my own, as well as what I learned in school and through working at other places.

What inspires your work and what sets you apart from everyone else?
My ability to make people feel beautiful in their own skin inspires me. My authenticity and relationship with my clients are what sets me a part.

What makes your business stand out from other businesses in Bloomington?
My facials are results driven. I want to help clients improve their skin and be comfortable in their bodies.

Have you won any awards or had any special recognition or acknowledgement of your business?
I was in the top 5 for Best of Btown last year!

What has been your biggest success to date?
I recently had my first week ever fully booked.

What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge has been (trying) to overcome Imposter syndrome and feel comfortable in my space.

What are your plans for the future of your business?
My goal is to grow the skin care side of my business and help more people love their skin!
