On Friday, June 3, 2022, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce hosted it's first ever Community Conversations at the Golf Club at Eagle Pointe's Eagle's Nest. There was a short presentation by the watershed coordinator, Maggie Sullivan, followed by a panel discussion featuring perspectives on the importance of this resource from community leaders, environmental advocates, scientists, and more to discuss the challenges that may impact businesses, tourism, and sustainability. Attendees were able to come away with a new perspective on the lake's importance to our community and how you can improve its sustainability. The panel featured Alex Crowley (City of Bloomington), Vic Kelson (City Utilities), Jim Krause (Friends of Lake Monroe), Erin Kunkel, MSC (Cook Medical), Jane Martin (Water Fund), and Mike McAfee (Visit Bloomington). Cheryl Munson, Monroe County Council, At-Large Member, moderated the panel's Q&A.

Congratulations to Brian Richardson owner of Veteran Hauling, a veteran-owned junk removal and demo company that provides dependable services, with military precision, to businesses, property managers, and overwhelmed souls. At Veteran Hauling they can remove almost anything from hoarding, to helping you clean out a garage. Just last year they removed 300 tons of trash. At Veteran Hauling they love what they do and believe that the way they treat people before, during, and after the process is what sets them apart from the rest.
