Event: Bloomington Speedway Centennial Celebration Date: 31 August & 1 September 2022 The Monroe County History Center celebrates 100 years of the Bloomington Speedway with two free events supported by the IU Credit Union! August 31 – 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, 202 E 6th Street Hear from Hall of Fame Race Announcers Pat Sullivan and Brad Dickerson about the founding of Bloomington Speedway in 1923. Past and present drivers will contribute stories of the history of racing in Monroe County. September 1 – 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, 202 E 6th Street & 6th & Lincoln City Parking Lot Get an up-close look at racecars throughout the years! Have your picture taken with drivers and their cars during a family-friendly event. Design your own racecar and see racing memorabilia in the museum galleries. Free event parking will be available at the First Presbyterian Church (221 E 6th St) during both events. Event: The Development of Counties in Indiana
