Beginning August 3, local oncology patients and their families will have increased access to a broad range of psychosocial services. Bloomington Health Foundation, Cancer Support Community Central Indiana, and IU Health South Central Region are coordinating efforts to provide free virtual programming for those impacted by cancer in Monroe County and surrounding communities.

We are now taking ads for the August/September issue, which includes both the Family Business and Holiday Giving Guide special advertising sections. The construction season proceeds this summer, as current public health guidelines allow, bringing improvements to city streets and bicycle/pedestrian infrastructure, among other public works. City employees are continuing to practice (and work with contractors to implement) CDC protocols regarding physical distancing, face covering, hygiene, and disinfection of vehicles and equipment to protect workers engaged in these projects and prevent community transmission of COVID-19. City to Host 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 23rd7/13/2020 The City of Bloomington Council for Community Accessibility (CCA) will host an interactive, online celebration of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act Thursday, July 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. This event will also celebrate the anniversary of the City of Bloomington Council for Community Accessibility (CCA), founded shortly before the act was signed into law. The CCA is a volunteer group serving the community by promoting community education and public awareness on the importance of accessibility for all people.
The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® - Bloomington will take place on Sept. 13, 2020.
The event, which attracts hundreds of participants to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease, will look different this year. Instead of hosting a large gathering, the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter is encouraging participants to walk as individuals or in small groups on sidewalks, tracks and trails across the Bloomington area. On Walk day, an Opening Ceremony will feature local speakers and a presentation of Promise Flowers to honor the personal reasons participants join together to fight Alzheimer’s and all other dementia, all delivered to participants' smartphones, tablets and computers.
