Smithville opens opportunities for area businesses to tap into marketing and other expertise at Smithville to aid in recovery from COVID-19 economic issues.
To help small businesses recover from COVID-19 economic impacts, Smithville is offering several complimentary or discounted services through its “Smithville Helps” initiative. Local companies can tap Smithville professionals in media production, creative development, social media, and more for advice and direction to help their business or service recover. “As a locally owned and operated business, we appreciate and understand the serious impact that this pandemic has had on small businesses in Indiana,” said Smithville President Paul Quick. “Through our ‘Smithville Helps’ initiative, we hope to help local companies accelerate their recovery.”

For the first time in two decades, IU Memorial Stadium will not host thousands of community members in celebration of those who have been impacted by cancer. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bloomington Health Foundation has announced that the 21st running of Hoosiers Outrun Cancer (HOC) will be held in a virtual format this year.
In a video message posted on the HOC website, BHF President and CEO Jon Barada, joined by HOC Committee Chair Shawn Williams, shared that the virtual format will “ensure the well-being of our community and hold an event that can be safely enjoyed by all.” Those wishing to participate can register online at hoosiersoutruncancer.org and will receive a shirt and commemorative race bib in the mail. Participants are then encouraged to don their shirt on September 26th and select their own socially distanced route to complete. That morning at 9:30 A.M., HOC will host a virtual program on their website and Facebook page that will include many of the beloved pre-race traditions. MCCSC is looking forward to welcoming back students and staff on August 5th. Thank you to all who served on the MCCSC Re-entry committee and those who provided input in other ways. In order to assist our students and staff we are accepting the following donations:
