United Way of Monroe County to Help Your Employees Achieve Financial Success

​Does your company want to help employees achieve greater financial stability and peace of mind, all while enhancing your benefits package? United Way of Monroe County is inviting individuals to join their next Financial Coaching cohort, beginning in May 2022. 

Thanks to a generous contribution from German American Bank, United Way of Monroe County is expanding this program to reach more individuals in our community this year. The Financial Coaching program is a twelve-month program that matches individuals with professional financial coaches to help achieve their financial goals. We invite you to partner with us to increase the financial wellness of your employees. 

How will participants benefit? 
Program participants will receive personalized coaching to help them increase savings, reduce debt, plan for major investments—like purchasing a car or becoming a homeowner—and achieve greater financial stability. On average, past participants have saved over $2,000 while also paying down $3,000 in debt. Additionally, 91% reported increased financial confidence after completing the program. As a bonus, participants who complete the full 12-month program will receive a $25 gift card as a reward for their commitment. ​

How does it work?  
United Way partners with Apprisen, a non-profit organization with 60 years of experience and over half a million people served, to provide the financial coaching service. In a series of individual, holistic coaching sessions over a 12-month period, participants will set personalized goals—like purchasing a car or home—and create an action plan for achieving them. They will also review credit reports/scores with the coach, learn how to address credit report issues, and identify ways to strengthen credit to achieve their long-term financial vision. 

Additionally, participants have access to free financial tools via webinars, social media, and "Money Minute" blog articles. Participants stay engaged in the process and remain accountable for progress toward their goals through regular follow-ups with their coach. Apprisen ensures their service is convenient for participants by offering several ways to connect with coaches: in-person, over the phone, or by email.
