Smithville received national recognition in December for its continuing community service to residents and for the national innovative installation of Smart Home Security products in 2021, according to Darby McCarty, Smithville Chairman and CEO. The awards were presented in December at the national Resideo Connect Conference in Orlando, Florida. The conference annually hosts the leading security, HVAC, and technology integrators from across the nation. As Chris Dobson, Product Manager, explained: “The Community Service Award acknowledges our commitment to the communities we serve and our initiatives like the school supply drive, Touch a Truck events, and the Salvation Army Angel Tree program.” The Smithville Engaged Team organizes community events such as the Teachers Warehouse School Supply Drive and others. The Residential Installation of the Year Award given by Resideo to Smithville reflects Smithville’s capacity to fully demonstrate the high-tech Connected Home Lifestyle in a residential installation. The award-winning installation encompassed fiber connectivity, security monitoring, life safety monitoring, water leak monitoring, smart home control, and interactive services. The installation included a Lyric Smart Home Controller, 24 burglary sensors, five smoke detectors, two carbon monoxide detectors, two water leak sensors, smart lighting control, Total Connect service plan with automation, and Smithville symmetrical gigabit fiber broadband service. “Resideo pointed out that very few companies could bring the connected home together as completely as Smithville does and honored us for achieving this remarkable level of service,” said Dobson, who was on hand to receive the Resideo recognition.
“National industry recognition like this underscores and validates Smithville’s continuing commitment to excellence in customer service,” said Paul Quick, Smithville’s President. “We applaud the Smithville Security and Smithville Engaged teams, as well as our outstanding teams in customer service, marketing, installation technicians and technical support for all working together to achieve this level of recognized excellence.” In the fall Smithville was voted “Best Home Security” provider by the Herald Times “Best of B-Town” survey in Bloomington. The recognition was the second in a row for Smithville. Smithville serves as a major Indiana contractor for top-ranked Resideo connected home and security products. With products licensed under the Honeywell Home brand, Resideo works with more than 110,000 professional contractors, more than 3,000 distributors, and 1,200 original equipment manufacturers, major retailers and online merchants nationally. More than 6.7 million customers use Resideo's connected devices in their homes.
