United Way of Monroe County is partnering with Apprisen and Union Savings Bank to offer free quarterly first-time home buyer’s workshops in 2023. These in-person and virtual workshops will provide information to help attendees achieve their dream of purchasing their first home. The first workshop will take place in person at United Way on Saturday, February 25, from 9 am – 3:30 pm. While the sessions are free, registration is required as class size is limited. Anyone wanting to attend should register at www.monroeunitedway.org/HomebuyersWorkshop. “Homeownership continues to be one of the strongest steps in creating financial stability for individuals and families. Each workshop will be led by Apprisen, a non-profit organization committed to individual financial well-being with over 65 years of helping, empowering, and motivating people along their financial journey. Topics will include:
Attendees will receive a HUD homebuyer certificate of completion at the end of the workshop. Union Savings Bank is providing financial sponsorship for the 2023 workshops. In conjunction with the Free Community Tax Service, a personal finance blog, free financial coaching, and the Bank on Bloomington program, home buyer’s workshops are a key component of United Way of Monroe County’s financial stability initiatives.
