Northwest Bank, a full-service financial institution offering a complete line of business and personal banking products, has recently made a $2,500 donation to the Madi’s Hope Foundation, a local foundation named in honor of Acute Myeloid Leukemia survivor, Madi Moore. This donation will support the Madi’s Hope Foundation’s mission to help children battling sickness, disease, or other life-threatening situations, and families who are struggling to pay medical bills or make ends meet during their child’s treatments.
“Supporting our communities serves as the cornerstone of our mission as a financial institution,” said Cathy Bohnert, Linton, Indiana office manager, Northwest Bank. “We are honored to support Madi’s legacy and mission to help our community members in need and to offer a helping hand to promote healing.”

At the tender age of 15, Madi was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a very rare form of blood cancer. Throughout her cancer battle, Madi never gave up hope. She entered remission seven months after diagnosis and remained cancer free, qualifying her for a bone marrow transplant. Although she defeated her Leukemia diagnosis, she began to suffer from complications from the bone marrow transplant. When Madi was just 17 years old, she passed away from Graft vs. Host disease, a side effect of her transplant.

Throughout her treatment course and brave battle, Madi remained steadfast in her faith, her fight, and her love for others. The Madi’s Hope Foundation was established in 2019 in honor of Madi’s strong faith, her support from family and her community, and to honor her wish to help children in need.
