In partnership with the NAACP Monroe County Branch, the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office will host a Community Conversation on February 10, 2024. This event is the second in a series of community-centered dialogues sponsored by the two organizations meant to strengthen trust, transparency, and cooperation between the Monroe County community and prosecutor’s office. The Community Conversation will focus onthe prosecutor’s impact on bail decisions during pretrial processing. Attendees should expect to learn how bail decisions are made, the role of the prosecutor in making these decisions, and the impact of other criminal justice decision-makers on bail outcomes. Additionally, attendees will engage in case studies and propose solutions to improve pretrial policy and practice. The event will be held at the Monroe County Public Library Branch located at 303 E. Kirkwood Ave Bloomington, IN 47408, February 10th from 2pm to 4pm.
