Monroe County Y Hosts New Mind Body Studio Grand Opening at the Southeast Y

​The Monroe County YMCA is hosting an Open House week to celebrate the grand opening of their new Mind Body Studio at the Southeast Y (2125 S. Highland Ave. Bloomington, IN 47401). The Y’s new Mind Body Studio will host a range of Mind Body classes that incorporate practices of yoga, Pilates, barre, and more. The new Mind Body Studio boasts newly updated flooring, yoga mats, wellness equipment, and a quieter, more private location within the Y.

From August 22-27, the community is welcome to visit the new space, meet group exercise instructors, and learn what the Y has to offer. The schedule for the Open House is as follows:

• Monday, August 22, 9:00-11:00 am and 5:00-6:15 pm
• Tuesday, August 23, 9:00-11:00 am
• Wednesday, August 24, 9:00-11:00 am
• Thursday, August 25, 5:00-6:15 pm
• Saturday, August 27, 9:00-11:00 am

The official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in collaboration with the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce is Tuesday, August 30 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at the Southeast Y. Y members and guests are welcome to tour the studio, enjoy light refreshments, enter raffles for a month free admittance to a Specialty Mind Body class, and witness the ribbon cutting.

Mind Body Team Leader Lisa Weidenbener says, “We are so excited to have this new space in the Southeast Y. The Mind Body Studio is here to offer an oasis away from the stress of everyday life.”

Group Exercise Director Emily Abbott adds, “With this expansion, we are adding more Mind Body classes to our roster. We hope everyone can find something that they enjoy at the Y – whether it is low-impact yoga or full-body workouts like barre. There are ways to stay active and have fun for everyone.”
