Monroe County Humane Association (MCHA) is thrilled to announce its May event to help local cat and dog owners keep their animals safe and healthy.
On Sunday, May 5, 2024, MCHA and Area 10 Agency on Aging will host a pop-up mobile vaccine clinic at the Endwright Center, located at 631 W. Edgewood Dr., Ellettsville, IN 47429. MCHA’s amazing veterinary team of volunteers and staff will be available from 1-3 p.m. with no appointment needed; all are welcome! Mobile Clinics offer a range of services, including legally mandated rabies vaccines for pets aged 12 weeks (about 3 months) and older. Additionally, clinics provide nail trims, anal gland expressions, microchips, and preventive measures for flea, tick, and heartworm. Subsidized rates are available to residents experiencing financial hardship. To qualify for these rates, residents should bring valid documentation with them to the Mobile Vaccine Clinic. Safety is paramount. Cats must be in carriers, and dogs must be leashed (no retractable leashes). It’s essential for pet owners to understand that pets showing signs of illness or aggression might be turned away. Communities or organizations interested in hosting a wellness clinic are invited to reach out to Liz Austin, Outreach Coordinator, at [email protected]. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring essential pet care services to your area. Learn more about Mobile Vaccine Clinics, including future dates and locations, at monroehumane.org.
