Mayor Thomson To Hold Traveling Town Halls: Open and accessible government comes to the people3/4/2024 Mayor Kerry Thomson is committed to an open government that is accessible to all Bloomington residents. In that spirit, she will be out in the community conducting a series of traveling town hall meetings. Every other month, a listening session will be held in each of the six City Council districts, starting in District 1, represented by Councilmember Isabel Piedmont-Smith. In the intervening months, Mayor Thomson will hold a town hall on a specific topical issue. The first listening session will take place on Monday, March 18, 6-7:30pm at Summit Elementary School, 1450 W Countryside Ln. Mayor Thomson will be accompanied by Councilmembers as well as Planning and Transportation and Housing and Neighborhood Development department directors. What questions or concerns do you have? What issues are important to you? How can the City better serve the community? Please attend the town hall in your district, or another one that fits your schedule, for an opportunity to engage directly with City officials. Details about future traveling town halls will be announced via the City’s social media channels, so keep a lookout for a town hall near you. The tentative schedule is as follows:
