Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington will welcome Mark D. Miles, President and Chief Executive Officer of Penske Entertainment Corp., as the keynote speaker for the 13th Annual Cook Center for Entrepreneurship Luncheon Wednesday, March 27 at 11:30 a.m. The keynote conversation will be moderated by Dan Peterson, Vice President, Industry and Government Affairs for Cook Group, Inc. and Commissioner with the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. “Mark Miles will share his valuable insights on the long history of innovation and entrepreneurship from the leadership at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the lasting impact Penske Entertainment Corp. has on the Hoosier economy,” said Steve Bryant, Executive Director of the Ivy Tech Cook Center for Entrepreneurship. Penske Entertainment Corp. is comprised of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS), INDYCAR and IMS Productions (IMSP). Penske Entertainment Corp. is a subsidiary of Penske Corporation, a global transportation, automotive, and motorsports leader employing more than 71,000 people worldwide. Prior to joining the world of motorsports, Miles was President and CEO of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, Inc., a non-profit regional alliance of corporate CEOs and university presidents focused on long-term growth and economic development throughout the Central Indiana region, including entrepreneurship and innovation among other strategic priorities.
The Cook Center for Entrepreneurship Luncheon was launched in 2010 to bring students and the community together in a forum to hear from entrepreneurial leaders about the value of supporting innovation and free enterprise. Event funds support entrepreneurship education at Ivy Tech with scholarships for students and programing to serve clients at the Ivy Tech Cook Center for Entrepreneurship.
