Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington is offering Welding courses at Martinsville High School this summer. Classes start June 5 and will run for eight-weeks. MIG Welding will be held on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and TIG Welding will be held on Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Welding classes could be free with the state’s Next Level Jobs grant for students who qualify.
There are no pre-requisites and classes are open to anyone seeking welding training. Future plans include the opportunity to earn a full Structural Welding certification entirely in Martinsville. More classes will also be offered this fall at both Martinsville High School and in Mooresville, Ind. Classes will continue to be held on Tuesday or Thursday evenings in Martinsville and classes will be held on Wednesday evenings in Mooresville.
