Effective July, 1, the Ivy Tech Community College Mooresville site became part of Ivy Tech Bloomington under a restructuring of the college’s Indianapolis campus service area. In an effort to better serve students and industry, Ivy Tech Central Indiana (Indianapolis) moved from a nine-county service area to a three-county service area consisting of Marion, Hendricks, and Boone. Ivy Tech Central Indiana previously served 30% of Indiana’s population. With this restructuring project, the service area now covers 18% of Indiana’s population, distributing administrative and student services among surrounding Ivy Tech campuses. “Our immediate focus for Mooresville is on making connections in the community and bringing in industry partners to skill-up the local workforce and help businesses grow,” said Ivy Tech Bloomington Chancellor Jennie Vaughan. While Ivy Tech’s Bloomington campus covers an eight-county service area, including Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Morgan, Orange, and Owen counties, it serves students from nearly all Indiana counties. The Bloomington campus is the only college in the state to offer an accredited two-year associate degree in radiation therapy and only community college campus to offer optician and eye care training.
Restructuring of the Ivy Tech Central Indiana campus also involves the following changes, which were complete as of July 1:
