The Detachment of Indiana Sons of The American Legion will play its 2022 Glenn Nagel Memorial State Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 4 at Bloomington’s Cascades Golf Course. The tournament is open to all current members of The American Legion Family with at least one member of each foursome required to be a member of the Sons of The American Legion. A total of 200 golfers will be visiting Bloomington that the weekend to play in the day-long tournament, which will be made up two sessions with shotgun starts at 8:00 am and 1:30 pm. In addition to fun and food out on the course all day, this year’s tournament will feature one hole with a possible $10,000 hole-in-one prize. Even more fun, food, and friends will be available on Friday and Saturday at Burton Woolery American Legion Post 18 located at 1800 West Third Street in Bloomington.

The American Legion is the nation’s largest veterans service organization, made up of veterans who have served honorably in all branches of the U.S. Military since 1919. Spouses and descendants of Legion members are eligible to belong to the American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of The American Legion. Together, the three groups are commonly referred to as The American Legion Family. Indiana’s Detachment of the Sons of The American Legion has more than 35,000 members and is one of the largest detachments in the country. Bloomington’s Burton Woolery S.A.L. Squadron 18 is one of the state’s largest squadrons with nearly 400 members.
