The Mill, Bloomington’s nonprofit center for entrepreneurship, announced the winners of the Spring 2024 Crossroads Pitch Competition. Tee Genius won the Collegiate competition for the first-ever golf tee time booking and notification software that is financially advantageous to both golf courses and golfers. Therapprove, the winner of the Crossroads Spring, serves as a comprehensive hub for pediatric therapies, including physical, occupational, speech, behavioral, and mental health, offering a streamlined solution for caregivers whose children often require multidisciplinary care. They introduced pioneering features aimed at reducing the referral-to-response time to zero days.

“We're honored to accept the Crossroads Collegiate award for Tee Genius,” said founder, Grace Snyder. “This recognition, supported by The Mill and Flywheel Fund, fills us with immense gratitude and appreciation for their investment in our vision.”

Tee Genius is fueled by their team's passion for redefining golf course management and enhancing the golfer experience by optimizing tee times. As the trends for online tee times rise, Tee Genius is making sure that golf courses aren’t leaving any revenue on the table when it comes to cancellations and no-shows.
The Collegiate Finals were judged by Amanda Findlay, Managing Director & Acceleration Lead, MatchBOX Studio, Katie Birge, VP Platform, M25, and Geoff Zentz, Senior Director of Innovation, AgriNovus Indiana. Tee Genius takes home the Collegiate grand prize – a $5,000 investment from Flywheel Fund.

The winner of Crossroads Spring is a software-as-a-service platform that gives caregivers direct and clear access to pediatric therapists.

“We want to thank the Mill and Flywheel Fund for celebrating Therapprove as the Crossroads Spring 2024 winner—and more grateful still that they are truly celebrating our mission of timely and trustworthy delivery of therapy services for children who need them,” expressed Tiffney Vivo, Founder & CEO of Therapprove. “The experience of the competition was exciting but the prospect of collaboration is even more energizing for a digital health startup like us.”

Tiffney noted that more than 26 million families in the US have children with a developmental disability or mental health disorder, all requiring at least one type of therapy to reach their full potential. The average wait time for families from sending a referral for therapy to obtaining a response from an agency is intolerably long. Therapprove addresses many critical industry pain points. It improves children’s outcomes, eliminates system inefficiencies, and reduces administrative burdens–making it a win-win proposition for all stakeholders in the Therapprove ecosystem and ultimately reducing the referral to response time to zero days.

For their all-in-one solution, Therapprove received a $10,000 investment from Flywheel Fund. The Spring Finals were judged by Jacob Schpok, Partner, Head of Platform, Elevate Ventures, Angie Stocklin, Senior Lecturer, Purdue University, and M Shane Bivens, President, ArcticRx by ChefsFridge Co.

“It was a great event,” said Bram Boyd, Program Manager at The Mill. “This was our biggest Crossroads ever, highlighting both the Crossroads Collegiate nominees and the finalists from Crossroads Spring. We were blown away by the innovation and excitement in the room. Thanks to all our finalists and congratulations to Tee Genius and Therapprove!”

Crossroads Pitch Competition is open to any Indiana-based startup with less than $250,000 in annual recurring revenue. The other Collegiate finalists were Card Genie, Mili Llama, and UChef. Finalists for Crossroads Spring also included Collabrix, Junogo, Noveltor, and TitleWise.
