The Community Justice and Mediation Center (CJAM) is offering a 40-hour training program for community members interested in learning about conflict resolution, mediation, or restorative justice. These skills are useful in all areas of life -- family relationships, work relationships, volunteer work, etc. If you are interested in enhancing your communication and listening skills, along with learning basic mediation and negotiation techniques, this is a great opportunity for you. The training offers hands-on skill development, combining activities, lecture, and practice. Participants can use their skill building acquired through the training in their life and community without becoming a volunteer. Completion of the training qualifies participants to become volunteer mediators with CJAM. Training sessions will be held via Zoom on Thursday evenings (7-9 pm) and Saturdays (8:30 am-3:00 pm). Dates are Thursday February 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, & March 2, 2024. Tuition is $300, with an early bird special of $275 if received by 01/15/2024. A limited number of scholarships are available -- just ask! Apply online at http://cjamcenter.org/training-and-education/,call 812-336-8677 or email [email protected]. We'd be happy to answer any questions you have!
