Bloomington Public Transportation Corporation (BPTC) will celebrate 40-Years of serving the Bloomington community on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the downtown transfer facility located at 301 North Walnut Street. John Connell, BPTC General Manager will begin the event with opening comments followed by guest speakers Mayor John Hamilton, BPTC Chair of Board of Directors, James McLary and Bloomington City Common Council, President, Susan Sandberg.
In Celebration of 40-years in service, Wednesday, October 5, 2022 has been declared a fare free day. Bloomington Transit Passengers will not be required to pay fares, show passes or IDs when boarding the bus throughout the entire day. Bloomington Public Transit Corporation provides fixed route service on eleven routes serving most areas of the City of Bloomington. BPTC also operates BT-Access, a specialized service available to persons with disabilities who are unable to use regular fixed route services.
