For Breaking Down the Barriers this year, the Council for Community Accessibility is going to hold a virtual event about virtual events, specifically how to make them more accessible to everyone. It will be Monday, April 26th, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. We will have three speakers: Brian Richwine, an accessibility expert who works at IU University Information Technology Services, will talk about making virtual events accessible; Holly Elkins, Chair, Legislative Committee, at the Indiana Association of the Deaf, will talk about how to make virtual events more accessible for the deaf; and Ted Boardman, who is the president of the Heartland Association of the American Council of the Blind, will talk about how make virtual events more accessible for people with low vision and the blind. There will be lots of opportunities to talk to them and each other in breakout sessions.
The first 55 people who register will receive a tasty charcuterie board from BloomingBoards to munch on during the event!
Register by Thursday, April 22nd, to receive the charcuterie board. Let us know if you need an accommodation to have the board delivered.
