Ben Wolter, former Head Trainer of BloomingPaws, has formed Emerald Isle Canine, a business focused on training, home care, and adventures. Ben is certified by Top Tier K9 in Pet and Working Dog training. He is a highly praised trainer and has trained many dogs in the Bloomington area over the last 4 years, including dogs with aggression, separation anxiety, reactivity, and other behavioral problems. 
 
Classes and individualized training feature basic dog obedience skills for all breeds. Skill development involves dog and owner actions for the basic commands of heel, place, sit/stay, down/stay, and come coupled with exposure to socializing behaviors for a variety of environments such as home, parks, and walkways. By using the LIMA (Least Intrusive Minimal Aversive) approach to training, with enough patience and consistency, the dog responds to commands regardless of distractions that are encountered. Special training is available to service animals to respond to a greater range of commands and needs of their owners.

Ben also offers a dog search and placement service, called Canine Forcasting, for prospective owners who need assistance in selecting a dog that will be compatible with their lifestyle and preferences. This includes locating rescue dogs as well as searching and visiting reputable breeders to make the best selection possible. This business is best described as a boutique service, and the number of dogs accepted at any one time is limited to provide high quality and attention to each client and their pet.
