State Senator Shelli Yoder (D) and State Rep. Peggy Mayfield (R) will be part of the legislative leadership teams in their respective political parties in the 2021 Indiana General Assembly session.
Yoder, who was elected to her first Senate term on Nov. 3, will serve as the Democratic Party's assistant caucus chair in the Senate. She represents District 40, which covers Bloomington and most of Monroe County.
Mayfield, who was elected to her 5th House term representing District 60, has served as the Republican Party's assistant majority floor leader for several years. The district covers parts of Morgan and Monroe counties.
The General Assembly's Organization Day on Tuesday, Nov. 17 marks the official start of the upcoming session.
