PRESS RELEASE: Celebrating Excellence: Local Leaders to be Honored with Women Excel Bloomington Awards

​The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the Women Excel Bloomington (WEB) 2026 award winners. These distinguished women were chosen for their exceptional leadership, business acumen, entrepreneurship, and community involvement. The 16th Annual WEB Awards celebration will take place on Tuesday, August 11th, from 5:30 – 8:00 pm at Ivy Tech Community College’s Shreve Hall.
 
Those to be honored at the 2026 Women Excel Bloomington Awards are:
 
  • Heather Kinderthain – CEO, Simplified Eldercare
  • Norma Landgraff – Global & Local Outreach Assistant, Sherwood Oaks Christian Church | Iglesia Hispana Ministry Leader, Iglesia Hispana
  • Shatoyia Moss – Community and Family Resources Director, City of Bloomington
  • Esthela O’Neill – Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Ivy Tech Community College - Bloomington
  • Jennifer Quick-Cook – CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana
  • Linda Grove-Paul – Mae Cassady Lifetime Achievement Award – Vice President of Adult Services, Centerstone
 
“Women Excel Bloomington gives us the opportunity to recognize leaders whose work strengthens not only their organizations, but the broader Bloomington community,” said Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Eric Spoonmore. “This year’s honorees reflect the excellence, service, and commitment that make our community stronger. Their leadership is visible in the people they mentor, the organizations they support, and the lasting impact they continue to make across Monroe County.”
 
The WEB Awards celebrate the achievements of local women leaders who inspire through their actions and initiatives. These women serve as mentors, excel in their professions, and demonstrate outstanding leadership and community service. The WEB Awards is the highlight of the Bloomington Women in Leadership's annual calendar and honors women who balance professional success with a commitment to volunteerism and civic engagement.

PRESS RELEASE: Bloomington Chamber Now Accepting Nominations for the 2024 Women Excel Bloomington Awards

​The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce it is now accepting nominations for the 14th Annual Women Excel Bloomington (WEB). Each year, several women are recognized for their outstanding leadership in influencing the growth of others in the community and/or in their professional organization. WEB has a history of recognizing local, civic-minded women from various backgrounds and professions who mentor others and lead by example. Through their actions and initiatives, these women serve as an inspiration and demonstrate outstanding leadership in all they do. These prestigious business leadership awards will be presented at the WEB Awards reception scheduled for Thursday, August 22nd at One World at Woolery Mill.
 
WEB nominees serve as an inspiration, helping others to excel as they lead by example. They may be employed in either the business sector or a non-profit organization. Other criteria include:
  • The nominees must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Chamber membership is not required; EXCEPT for nominees who live outside of Monroe County, who must be a Chamber member in good standing.
  • Nominees cannot be a previous WEB award winner (a full list is available on our website).
  • Nominees should balance their professional contributions with demonstrated leadership through community service or in volunteer capacities outside of their occupational obligations.
 
"The Women Excel Bloomington Awards highlight the incredible achievements of women who make a significant impact in our community," said Eric Spoonmore, President and CEO of the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. "These women not only excel in their professional roles but also inspire others through their dedication and leadership. We look forward to honoring their contributions and celebrating their successes."
 
Nominations may be submitted on the Chamber’s website (chamberbloomington.org/webnominations). A nomination form is also available online or by calling the Chamber at (812) 336-6381. All nominations should be submitted to the Chamber on or before Monday, July 1, 2024 at 5:00p.m.

PRESS RELEASE: The Chamber’s Bloomington Women in Leadership (BWIL) Hosts First Community Engagement Day

​On Friday, August 27, 2021, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce’s Bloomington Women in Leadership (BWIL) will host its first Community Engagement Day. BWIL is a professional women’s group that empowers, inspires, and engages through mentorship, professional development, and community. This first Community Engagement Day will be a donation drive for The RISE! families, a transitional housing community for women and their families affected by domestic abuse.

The donation drive will be in the parking lot across the street from First United Methodist Church from 10:00AM – 2:00PM. The BWIL steering committee requests the public and local businesses take part in bringing donations of new or very gently used household items to the corner of 4th Street and Washington Street at the donation tent.
