Kaytee LorentzenDirector of Communications & Events
[email protected] As Director of Communications & Events, I spearhead the Chamber's multifaceted marketing and communications initiatives, engaging with a diverse array of stakeholders including Chamber members, the public, media, board, and staff members. My role involves closely collaborating with every department to craft coherent and compelling communication and marketing materials that cater to their unique needs. Beyond communications, I meticulously organize and oversee the myriad of events that the Chamber orchestrates, ensuring they align with our organization's objectives and standards.
I've been a part of the Chamber team since May 2021, initially as the Marketing & Communications Coordinator, before stepping into the role of Marketing & Communications Manager in January 2023, and subsequently evolving into my current position in September 2023. Before joining the Chamber, my photography business had been a member from 2016 to 2020. This experience fostered my passion for marketing and business. I hold a bachelor’s in journalism with a concentration in Photojournalism from Ball State University, obtained in 2015. Furthering my education, I graduated from the Indiana Chamber Executives Association’s (ICEA) Hoosier Chamber Academy in June 2022 and in May 2024 from Purdue University with a master’s degree in communication, focusing on public relations and advertising, and a certificate in strategic communications management. I am currently working on receiving my Certified Associate in Project Management Certificate (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute. I will also be attending the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Institute of Organizational Management starting in January 2025. I serve as the Fundraising and Marketing Chair on the Limestone Media Board of Directors and am the VP of Membership for the High Noon Toastmasters, International club. Outside of work, I savor time with my partner, Zech, and my Australian Shepard, Kora. I have a penchant for food competition TV shows like Chopped and Master Chef, series such as Law & Order: SVU, Game of Thrones, and House of the Dragon, as well as true crime and documentaries. I consider food to be my love language. I am embracing learning to accept credit for the work I contribute. A pivotal piece of advice I hold dear is, "Don't stress over things you can't control." An intriguing tidbit about me: I minored in philosophy. |
