Molly Nagy, Senior HR Coordinator at Hanapin Marketing
• Tell us about your job and your responsibilities
As the Senior HR Coordinator at Hanapin Marketing, I manage all recruitment, hiring, and onboarding efforts for our growing agency. During my tenure at Hanapin, our team has doubled in size, and I have had the opportunity to hire for a variety of roles from entry to director level.
• What is your favorite part about working at Hanapin Marketing?
The best part about working at Hanapin Marketing is our team by far! Hanapin is filled with bright, supportive, and passionate folks who show up every day to do great work, but also are the best version of themselves at work because they have a balance between their work and home life.
• How long have you lived in Bloomington and what brought you here?
Originally, I came to Bloomington to attend IU in 2008. After graduating, I was lucky to obtain a full-time position at Oliver Winery. I moved to Indianapolis for a short time, but am glad to have found my way back to Bloomington. As a native Hoosier, there is no other place in Indiana I would rather live!
• Are you involved in any other community organizations or have any hobbies? Tell us more!
My passions include people, learning (especially about human behavior and motivation), reading, baking, craft beer, and wine. While I’m not dedicated to one specific organization, I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer at My Sister’s Closet, Lotus Festival, Area 10 Agency on Aging, Habitat for Humanity, Bloomington Parks and Rec, and LifeDesigns, among other fantastic organizations within our community.
• Where do you see Bloomington in 5 years?
In 5 years, I see Bloomington continuing to grow! Since Hanapin is a part of the tech community, I’m personally looking forward to seeing the tech sector of Bloomington grow with the opening of Dimension Mill in the Trades District. At the same time, it’s my hope that our thriving arts community continues to be alive and well!
• What is your favorite Bloomington tradition?
My favorite Bloomington tradition is the Lotus Festival. It’s incredible to see artists from all over the world unite in Bloomington for a weekend centered around music and arts. (Lotus Festival is coming up on September 28 - October 1!)
• Where can you be found on the weekends and spare time?
On nights and weekends, you can find me doing yoga, listening to TEDtalks, attending a live show, on a hike, testing craft beers I haven’t tried yet, eating popcorn at the movies, and more recently, attempting to bike up the monster hills in Bloomington.
