Four Monroe County organizations (Shalom Community Center, Wheeler Mission, New Hope Family Shelter and Middle Way House) have teamed up to create a shelter for people experiencing homelessness who need to social distance or quarantine due to COVID-19.
Randy Brown with A Better Moving & Storage is assisting with the isolation shelter by providing moving services for the beds and mattresses donated by IU. Glenn Harris with Harris Services has also been assisting with the opening of the shelter by providing cleaning services.
If you would like to work as a staff member at the shelter, apply at the Shalom Community Center page on Indeed.com. For donations of money, donate to the COVID-19 Emergency Relief fund. Items to be donated should be taken to either the Shalom Community Center or New Hope shelter.
