This page provides information about candidates running for Monroe County Sheriff on General Election Day, November 8th. This open seat is currently being held by Sheriff Brad Swain. State law prohibits Sheriff Swain for running for a 3rd 4-year term. In the primary election, five Democratic candidates competed for their party's nomination.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office has law enforcement jurisdiction over all unincorporated portions of the county. With the Sheriff's Office there is the Chief Deputy, Captain of Operations, Office Administer, Animal Control, Civil Process Service, Coroner, Detective Division, non emergency Dispatch, Evidence Division.
