Questions & Answers

What motivated you to start your own business? How did you develop the skills to start your own business?
I have lived in Bloomington for over 20 years, but wasn’t working here and I missed that.  So, I decided to use my expertise that I gained in criminal law as a prosecutor to open my own firm.  As a prosecutor for 3.5 years, I represented the State of Indiana in hundreds of hearings and dozens of trials ranging from murder and child molestation to theft and drug possession.

What inspires your work and what sets you apart from everyone else?
I love practicing law because I am always learning.  There is always some nuance that sets a case apart.  I enjoy writing briefs and legal arguments.  My passion for the law and focus on litigation is what sets me apart because that translates to a better outcome for my clients.

What makes your business stand out from other businesses in Bloomington?
Allison Chopra Law is fully virtual.  This is more convent for clients because they can conduct all their work with me at work or in the comfort of their home.  We use Zoom, DocuSign, and a secure client portal to securely and efficiently work on their cases.

What are your plans for the future of your business?
My first goal is to add another attorney to the firm.
