The Three Blondes Floral Co. is a flower & gifts shop in downtown Bloomington ran by the 35-year-old entrepreneur, Kelsy Webber. The shop is filled with personal meaning, even sprouting from the name “Three Blondes,” coming from her three daughters (ages 10, 8, and 5). They didn’t only inspire the name, but the spirit of the business as well. What began as a passion and love for flowers has grown into a thriving business rooted with care, community, and authenticity. Kelsy’s love for flowers began at a young age, as her great aunts owned a flower shop in Southern Indiana, and she grew up surrounded by her mother and grandmother’s gardens. Her passion for flowers comes from the unique places in people’s lives. From births and birthdays to anniversaries and passing of loved ones, flowers mark life’s most meaningful moments, and Kelsy loves her flowers being a part of those memories. Her leading mantra: “treat others how you want to be treated,” shapes everything from customer interactions to the atmosphere the shop has itself. In an era that is controlled by screens and little human interaction, Kelsy hopes to bring a little bit of analog, tangible, and human experience back into the retail world. That philosophy extends to how she runs her business as well. Supporting locals isn’t just a slogan, it is a daily practice. During the growing season, Kelsy’s flowers are sourced 99% locally, directly helping local farmers and the regional economy. In addition, her merchandise is thoughtfully chosen, prioritizing women-owned businesses and makers with meaningful stories. Furthermore, she is very mindful about not duplicating her neighboring businesses’ products. Her community-first approach is shaped by her deep Bloomington roots. Kelsy grew up here, and has family woven into the town itself, and returned after living a year in Scottsdale, Arizona and Longmount, Colorado, because Bloomington’s downtown and independent businesses feel more personal, unique, and special. Despite Kelsy’s packed schedule, she knows the importance of balance and self-awareness. She leans into her strengths, and stays grounded by unwinding with old, classic literature, a habit that fully pulls her out of “business mode.” If she weren’t a florist, Kelsy says she’d likely be a writer, a path she once explored. Her advice to new entrepreneurs is simple: know why, invest in your skills before you leap, and build a business that excites you enough to show up every day. For Kelsy, that excitement lives in flowers, the community, and creating a space where people can feel seen. Kelsy’s shop is a small escape from the noisy world outside, and an open and welcoming atmosphere for all!
