Congratulations to United Way of South Central Indiana and Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana on their new shared office space! The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce was proud to celebrate a special ribbon cutting at 431 S. College Avenue, marking a new chapter of collaboration, growth, and community impact. Earlier this year, the two organizations joined forces to reduce overhead and redirect more resources toward mission-driven work. Big Brothers Big Sisters expanded its reach, now serving 13 counties across Indiana and Kentucky, while United Way introduced a refreshed logo that reflects its renewed energy and deepened commitment to the region. Students visited four ports on the cruise, interacting with 50 businesses and organizations to learn about various careers available right here in Monroe County! Many thanks to Boston Scientific, Solution Tree, IU Credit Union, Callie & Company Entertainment, Cook Medical, IU Health Bloomington, Simtra BioPharma Solutions, and TASUS for making this event possible! In collaboration with the Bloomington Rotary Club, Futurecast: Bloomington gathered a panel of economic experts from IU’s Kelley School of Business, and local leaders on Tuesday, November 4th at Ivy Tech Community College's Shreve Hall. This panel of experts imparted valuable insights, offering attendees a comprehensive forecast of the economic outlook for the coming year at federal, state, county, and city levels. The Kelley School of Business, based on research from its Indiana Business Research Center, has been sharing its economic forecasts throughout the state of Indiana for the past 50 years, which has provided crucial economic information needed by many Indiana businesses, government, and nonprofit organizations. This event gave the audience a chance to hear and interact with several of the state's leading economic thinkers as they discuss how the changing economic environment will affect the local region, Indiana, and the nation in the coming year. |
