Election Page
UPDATE: Trent Deckard, Cheryl Munson and Geoff McKim have prevailed in the Nov. 3 general election.

This page provides information about candidates in Nov. 3 general election for the Monroe County Council. Six candidates – three Democrats, two Republicans and a write-in – are vying for three at-large seats: James Allen, Janna Arthur, Trent Deckard, Geoff McKim, Cheryl Munson and Larrin Wampler. The top three vote-getters will take office on Jan. 1, 2021.

The 7-member County Council appropriates all funds for county use, adopts county budget, fixes county tax rate, and has exclusive power to borrow money for the County. Councilors serve four-year terms for this part-time position with a salary of $15,711. In addition to three at-large seats, there are councilors representing each of 4 districts. Those district seats will be up for election in 2022.
