Message From the President & CEO

Welcome to the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. Congratulations on your new Chamber membership and thank you for joining. The Chamber team and I welcome you and hope you will quickly see the value membership provides. Over the next few videos, the Chamber team will explain your member benefits of cost-savings, events, marketing, advocacy, and more! You will learn how we stand behind our motto of “Better Business. The Chamber is a 501(c)(6) non-profit member-based organization founded in 1915. Our almost 900 member businesses include home-based businesses, small and medium-sized businesses, and large corporations. And we are glad to welcome you into this group. I encourage you to check out the Chamber website and the Chamber app for information about upcoming events, community involvement, and business advocacy efforts. Remember to log in to your Member Portal, located on the home page of the Chamber’s website to add in your business directory information, your logo, any community events, register for Chamber events, and much more. ​View job postings on the Chamber's new Job Board. Job seekers can submit their resumes and apply for open positions, and employers can access resumes through their member portal.

Members and non-members alike may post jobs to the Job Board and even feature their listings which (1) promotes the post at the top of the board, (2) highlights the post, and (3) publishes it to the Google Jobs Network.

Members can post 30, 60, or 90 day job posts for FREE. Costs for non-member postings can be found on the Job Board site.

Chamber Events

Every year the Chamber hosts more than 50 events for members to network, learn and grow. Visiting the Chamber Events Calendar to see events and save the dates. We host annual, hallmark events designed to connect you with fellow members and introduce you to business and community leaders like Futurecast, the Chamber’s Annual Meeting, and even the Golf Scramble. We even host advocacy events such as Elect Connect, and Legislative Preview. Make sure to check out all of our signature events on our website. The most popular event is the Business After Hours. Business After Hours is a great opportunity for Chamber member business professionals to network and connect. The location varies each month – a Chamber member hosts and takes advantage of the opportunity to show off their organization.  Business After Hours is a free event, open to any employee of a Chamber member business. If you are a new attendee at Business After Hours, our Ambassadors will gladly show you around and introduce you to attendees. 

If you or any of your employees would consider themselves a young professional, or even young at heart, check out the Chamber’s Young Professionals Bloomington group. Its mission is to create a network of young professionals in the greater Bloomington area that fosters personal development through relationship building, skill enhancement, community enrichment, and career advancement opportunities. This is one of our most visited pages on our website as it’s used as a search engine for the Bloomington and surrounding communities. You can add both a long and short description, as well as, keywords. Membership Matters is The Chamber's twice-monthly e-newsletter.  Typically delivered on the 1st and 15th of each month, Membership Matters includes a variety of member news, the Chamber's Job Board, event information and updates. 

As a member of The Chamber, your business has the unique opportunity to share news in the form of press releases, announcements, flyers, etc. This isn't just a member benefit—it's a chance to elevate your visibility within our network, extend your reach, and forge stronger connections within the business community.
