Supporting Community Giving: 50+ Men Who Care of Monroe County Returns

​The Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County is pleased to share the following announcement from 50 Men Who Care of Monroe County, a philanthropic giving circle whose fund we are proud to administer.

We are excited to announce the relaunch of 50 Men Who Care of Monroe County!

Founded in 2014, this philanthropic giving circle paused during the pandemic and is now restarting — stronger and more energized than ever. Each quarter, our members come together to pool resources and make a meaningful impact by supporting deserving local nonprofits throughout Monroe County.

To date, 50 Men Who Care has raised more than $200,000 in unrestricted grants, benefiting nearly two dozen local organizations. These grants have provided critical, flexible funding when it mattered most.

Some of the nonprofits we’ve supported include:

• Bloomington Symphony Orchestra
• Boys & Girls Club
• Community Kitchen
• Girls Inc.
• Hoosier Hills Food Bank
• Middle Way House
• Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard
• The Nest at New Hope
• New Leaf New Life
• Teachers Warehouse
• Thrive By 5
• Volunteers in Medicine

For several of these organizations, the support from 50 Men Who Care quite literally helped keep the lights on. During times of greatest need, our collective generosity made the difference between vital services continuing — or organizations facing the possibility of closing their doors.
