SBA Offers Disaster Assistance to Businesses and Residents of Indiana Affected by Severe Storms and Tornadoes

Indiana businesses and residents affected by severe storms and tornadoes on June 25 are eligible to apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, SBA Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman announced today.

Administrator Guzman made the loans available in response to a letter from Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb on July 17 requesting a disaster declaration by the SBA. Businesses and residents in the declared area can now apply for low-interest disaster loans from the SBA. The declaration covers Monroe and Vigo counties and the adjacent counties of Brown, Clay, Greene, Jackson, Lawrence, Morgan, Owen, Parke, Sullivan and Vermillion in Indiana, and Clark and Edgar in Illinois.   

“The SBA is strongly committed to providing the people of Indiana with the most effective and customer-focused response possible to assist businesses of all sizes, homeowners and renters with federal disaster loans,” said Guzman. “Getting businesses and communities up and running after a disaster is our highest priority at SBA.”

The SBA will open a Disaster Loan Outreach Centers (DLOCs) at the Ivy Tech Community College, in Terre Haute, and the Frank Southern Ice Arena, in Bloomington, to assist businesses and residents complete their disaster loan application, accept documents, and provide updates on an application’s status. Walk ins are accepted, but you can schedule an in-person appointment at an SBA Business Recovery Center in advance. The Center will operate as indicated below.
