INDOT to host public open house in Bloomington on April 30The Indiana Department of Transportation announces opportunities to learn more about and provide comments about its Draft 2026-2030 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) document. An in-person open house will be held in Bloomington to provide more information and gather public input on Wednesday, April 30 from 4 - 6 p.m. at Bloomington City Hall, 401 N. Morton Street.
The Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) is a federally mandated 4-year funding and scheduling document for surface transportation projects (road, highway, pedestrian trails, bicycle facilities, bridge facilities and transit projects in Indiana). Both the current STIP (2024-2028) and Draft 2026-2030 STIP are available on INDOT’s STIP webpage. Community members may learn more about the STIP with the STIP Public Primer, which is also available on INDOT’s STIP webpage. The event is open to all and no registration is required. Attendees can drop in at any time to view the materials, ask questions, and speak directly with INDOT and Bloomington-Monroe-County Metropolitan Organization (BMCMPO) staff. A virtual open house option for the STIP will occur on Thursday April 24th at 5 p.m. Community members are also invited to review the Draft 2026-2030 STIP and provide their comments. The public comment period for the STIP will be open from Tuesday, April 1, to Thursday, May 15, 2025. Comments about the STIP may be submitted:
