The 43rd NAACP Freedom Fund Awards Dinner began in 1953 (on a national level) as a ten-year program to intensify efforts to complete the job of emancipation. The "Freedom Fund" represents the resources the branch uses to support its mission to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People presents an annual NAACP President's Award. Winners are selected by the NAACP president in recognition of special achievement and distinguished public service. This year's winner for the President's Award goes to Bloomington Historian Elizabeth Mitchell! Join us for a night of celebration and empowerment at Shreve Hall at Bloomington's Ivy Tech Community College. Get ready to be inspired by our guest speakers, enjoy delicious food, and connect with community members who share your passion for social justice. Don't miss out on this opportunity to support the NAACP's important work in advancing civil rights and equality for all. See you there! Interested in sponsoring? Click this link!
