The Better Business Bureau® Serving Central Indiana recently announced its 2024 class of Torch Awards for Ethics recipients. BBB Accredited Business, Hudson Plumbing, was named as this year’s winner for the Impact in the Community category. Founded in 1992, Hudson Plumbing has been a cornerstone of the Martinsville and Bedford communities, providing full-service plumbing solutions ranging from water heater installations to bathroom remodeling projects. With a focus on community engagement, the company has earned a reputation for giving back, exemplified through their signature “Here With Heart” initiative. This program illustrates their enduring commitment to supporting the communities that have supported them for over three decades. The “Here With Heart” initiative allows community members to nominate individuals or organizations in need of support, embodying Hudson Plumbing’s core belief in fostering a thriving local ecosystem built on collective growth and success. One such example is the food drive Hudson completed for Churches in Mission in Martinsville, shares Hudson Marketing Director, Elliott Scott. “It was the biggest food drive we’ve done yet…It’s a big deal to us, to show up, and we want to make sure too, that the community feels like Hudson has shown up for them.”
In 2024, Hudson Plumbing is making a difference by pledging $10,000 to local organizations. Their commitment to the community is reflected in past partnerships with groups such as Stability First, Desert Rose Foundation, Churches in Mission, and Artesian Little League. Through “Here With Heart,” Hudson Plumbing continues to witness and contribute to the remarkable work being done across their region. “We are beyond proud to be recognized for this award because this is exactly what we’re all about, which is fostering a sense of place and community and building relationships with the people we serve through our plumbing,” says Scott. The Torch Awards for Ethics, established by BBB, embodies BBB’s mission of advancing business trust. An independent panel of judges selects organizations to honor whose leaders focus on the four C’s: the Character of the organization’s leadership; if and how an authentic Culture is being fostered; the company’s transparent relationship with its Customers; and the impact the organization is making in the local Community.
