Ellettsville Feels the Aloha! Hawaiian Hoosier Named Small Business of the Year

The Hawaiian Hoosier Snack & Gifts has been named the 2025 Chamber Award of Excellence (Small Business) winner by the Greater Ellettsville Area Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting & Awards Dinner on Tuesday, October 28, a night that brought together community leaders, business owners, and friends to celebrate excellence and connection throughout Ellettsville.

Tracy Young, of Century 21 Scheetz, nominated the Hawaiian Hoosier for its joyful spirit, creativity, and community involvement. Since opening its doors in downtown Ellettsville, the snack shack has become a beloved local destination, known for its Hawaiian fusion snacks, warm hospitality, and uplifting energy. Through food, music, and events like the Live Aloha Kids Club, The Hawaiian Hoosier has created a space that celebrates both Aloha Spirit and Hoosier Hospitality, making everyone who visits feel like part of the ʻohana (family).

“This award means the world to us,” said Owner Stacie Marotta. “When we opened The Hawaiian Hoosier, our goal was to bring people together with the intent to create joy, share food made with love, and celebrate community. Ellettsville has embraced us in such a beautiful way, and we’re honored to give that same love back.”

The Chamber Award of Excellence recognizes small businesses that exemplify outstanding service, leadership, and dedication to the local community. Other 2025 award recipients included Kenny Williams (Spirit of Maurice E. Endwright Award), Danielle Butler (Educator of the Year), and Hometown IGA (Large Business Award of Excellence).
