After a record-breaking fall, Constellation is thrilled to kick off spring programming with a robust line-up of ensemble-focused and skill-building classes, running January through May. With after-school and evening options for Littles (grades K-2), Kids (grades 3-6), Teens (grades 7-12), and Adults (ages 18+), there is a little something for everyone as we celebrate the collaborative and community-building nature of the performing arts. This spring, each ensemble-based class will be working on material from a specific show or genre. Classes include Acting Ensemble for Littles: Finding Nemo, Acting Ensemble for Kids: Peter Pan, Broadway Kids: A Musical Revue, and Musical Theater Workshop: The Broadway Ensemble for adults. Additionally, Constellation will continue to offer hands-on skill-building classes, including Intro to Improv and Beyond Beginner Improv for adults, as well as Theater Playground: Bluey Takes a Bow and Musical Theater Playground: Neverland for littles. Rounding out the spring session are film-focused classes: Acting On-Camera: The Close-Up for teens and adults and On-Camera Puppetry for kids. Constellation’s Education Director, Eric Shelley, has seen first-hand the impact of his programming. “Getting a front-row seat to students’ artistic journeys from week to week allows me to witness personal growth of the individual as well as the ensemble as a whole. Whether it’s a class of 1st graders or a class of adults, the communities being built within the walls of Constellation Studios have a strong and enriching collaborative foundation resulting in more confidence, composure, and authentic self-expression across the board.”
Constellation is committed to increasing access to educational programming, offering scholarships for all classes for students grades K-12. These scholarships are sponsored by IU Credit Union and allow qualified students to attend a Constellation class at no cost to them. Information on scholarship application and eligibility can be found here. Classes range in price from $115-$225, depending on the length and level of the class. Registration can be found on Constellation Stage & Screen’s website. For questions about programming, please contact Eric Shelley at [email protected].
