Featuring New Offerings like Minecraft Moviemaking and Playwrighting for AdultsAfter a fun-filled summer of camps, Constellation is excited to introduce a robust line-up of fall classes, running September through December! With engaging courses in all areas of performing arts for Littles (grades K-2), Kids (grades 3-6), Teens (grades 7-12), and Adults (ages 18+), there’s something for everyone! For Littles, Constellation is bringing back popular offerings, like Theater Playground, but with fresh new themes! Upcoming classes for Littles (grades K-2) include Theater Playground: Aesop's Fables, Acting Ensemble for Littles: Where the Wild Things Are, and Musical Theater Playground: Lions & Ogres & Beasts. Meanwhile, Kids (grades 3-6) will dive into popular shows like Charlotte’s Web, Beauty and the Beast, and The Sound of Music in our Acting Ensemble and Broadway Kids classes. In addition to the return of these inspiring classes for budding artists, Constellation is thrilled to introduce a new moviemaking class for both kids and teens: Minecraft Moviemaking, inspired by the ultra-popular game and recent blockbuster motion picture. This class will immerse students in the creative world of filmmaking, both in front of and behind the camera, culminating in their own cinematic masterpiece! This fall, Constellation will also be offering a number of classes for adults (ages 18+), including Playwrighting: The 10-Minute Play. Led by local artist, writer, and performer, Nicole DeSalle, this class will focus on the fundamentals of playwriting as aspiring playwrights are guided through the beginning-to-end process of crafting their own, unique 10-minute plays. Constellation will also be introducing Intro to Stage Combat for Adults, a 6-week exploration into the art of stage combat. In addition to these new offerings for adults, we’ll be bringing back popular classes like Improv for Adults (Beginner and Beyond Beginner) and The Broadway Ensemble.
When looking toward the fall, Constellation’s Education Director, Eric Shelley, is most excited to see how the wide range of programming across genres, eras, and disciplines will engage broader segments of the community. “In addition to introducing new disciplines like playwriting and stage combat to our fall line-up, we continue to offer our ever-popular improv program for adults, as well as an array of acting, filmmaking, and musical theater classes for kids and teens that explore both classic and modern works. From Charlotte’s Web and Where the Wild Things Are to Minecraft and Beauty and the Beast, fall 2025 promises to be our most dynamic session yet.” Enrollment for all of Constellation’s fall classes is officially open as of July 16. Classes range in price from $115-$225, depending on the length and level of the class. Registration can be found on Constellation Stage & Screen’s website: seeconstellation.org/education/classes/. Constellation is committed to increasing access to educational programming, offering scholarships on all classes for students grades K-12. These scholarships are sponsored by IU Credit Union and allow qualified students to attend a Constellation class at no cost to them. Information on scholarship application and eligibility can be found here. For questions contact Constellation’s Education Director Eric Shelley at [email protected].
