Board of Public Works Approves Temporary Street Closures for LITTLE FIVE Film Production

Bloomington’s Board of Public Works approved a right-of-way special event permit on Tuesday, July 14 for temporary street closures related to the production of LITTLE FIVE, a feature film set against the backdrop of Indiana University in the early 1980s and inspired by the first Women’s Little 500 race in 1988.

Filming is scheduled to take place in Bloomington through August 13, 2026, with several temporary street closures planned to support production activity.

The approved closures include the following filming areas and dates:

• Monday–Tuesday, July 20–21: Grant Street from 8th Street to 6th Street and 7th Street from Lincoln Street to Dunn Street
• Monday, July 20: Park Avenue from 10th Street to 9th Street
• Saturday, August 1: Griffy area
• Monday–Tuesday, August 3–4: Kirkwood from Walnut to Indiana and Dunn Street from 6th Street to 4th Street
• Tuesday, August 4: Alley between College Avenue and Walnut Street / 7th Street and 6th Street

​Due to extreme weather conditions and with the approval from the Director of Public Works, street closure dates may shift within the approved filming window.

Residents, motorists, bicyclists, pedestrians, and transit riders should expect temporary changes in traffic flow, parking access, and travel routes near filming locations. Traffic-control measures and signage will be in place as needed.

Temporary right-of-way closures for filming require coordination across multiple City departments and partner agencies, including Public Works, Engineering, public safety, Bloomington Transit, Communications, and other staff responsible for traffic impacts, access, permitting, and public information.
