Vivum AI, a trailblazer in evolutionary AI technology, is taking the next step in its growth journey by moving to The Forge, Bloomington’s new 22,000-square-foot, sustainably designed Class-A office building in the heart of the Trades District. The company, currently based at The Mill, will transition into a larger, custom-designed space in April 2025 to support its scaling operations while remaining part of Bloomington’s vibrant innovation ecosystem.

The City of Bloomington Office of the City Clerk is accepting applications to fill vacant positions on the Commission on the Status of Women and Commission on the Status of Children and Youth.
The Commission on the Status of Women explores women's issues and concerns, celebrates women's accomplishments, and promotes solutions to the problems and challenges faced by women. The Commission's purpose is to assure that women and men have equal opportunity to function fully and optimally as citizens of Bloomington, as equal participants in the economy, in politics and government, in education, in social development, in the system of justice, and in all other facets of life. To these ends the Commission identifies needs, resources, and gaps in resources for women; monitors federal, state, and local policies and their impact on women; stimulates and encourages legislation, issues publications, and does all it can to help improve opportunities for women in the community. The membership on the commission shall be representatives of diverse educational, employment, economic business and community service elements of the community. In order to serve on the commission, applicants MUST be residents of the city. Preference for appointments shall be given to persons with experience working for women’s issues, knowledge of legislative and policy making processes, and direct knowledge and concerns of the total community be adequately represented on the commission; membership of the commission may include both women and men. “And Then There Were None” will be

The City of Bloomington Department of Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND) invites residents to apply for City funding to improve their neighborhoods. Applications for funding through three types of neighborhood grants described below are now available for the 2025 application cycle. Neighborhood Improvement Grant The Neighborhood Improvement Grant empowers neighborhood groups to address their specific concerns and special needs by funding resident-driven projects with a broad neighborhood-wide benefit. Regional Opportunity Initiatives (ROI) is pleased to announce the addition of Stefan Welsh to lead its new multi-layered microelectronics (ME) initiative. Welsh began his role on January 13 as the Program Director for Rural Indiana Workforce Development for Microelectronics initiative.
ROI was awarded a contract late last year through the Department of Defense (DoD)’s Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) program. ROI’s ME initiative supports the goals of the National Imperative for Industrial Skills (NIIS) initiative to promote the prestige of manufacturing and industrial careers, accelerate training development pipelines, and elevate U.S. manufacturing to world-leading status. “This initiative underscores ROI’s unwavering commitment to delivering innovative, regionally relevant, and demand-driven strategies to the Indiana Uplands that address the evolving needs of our workforce and key industry clusters,” said ROI President and CEO Tina Peterson. “By aligning education, training, and economic development with the specific demands of our region, we are equipping businesses and communities with the tools needed to thrive in a competitive landscape.
