26/27 Season Announcement | Constellation Stage & Screen Announces a Season of Thrilling Stories, Bold New Works, & Timeless Classics

​Last night, Constellation Stage & Screen announced its highly anticipated 5th Anniversary Season, featuring an exciting mix of thrilling theatrical adventures, poignant classic dramas, side-splitting farces, magic, and beloved family musicals. With four Mainstage shows, two Constellation for Kids productions, and one can't-miss special event, Constellation’s season has a little something for everyone!

Constellation is kicking off its 26/27 season with Heist by Arun Lakra. Originally commissioned at Constellation by Susan & David Jones, this runaway hit—now grossing millions at box offices across North America—returns to where it all began, September 3 - 20, 2026 at the Waldron Auditorium. Inspired by caper films like Ocean’s Eleven and The Sting, this high-stakes thriller follows a band of criminals, torn apart by suspicion and betrayal, who reunite for one last job. When the plan goes sideways, they slowly realize that when stealing from a thief, there are no rules.

This fall, Constellation will be celebrating the Halloween-season with a musical mystery perfect for kids, tweens, and grown-ups who remember reading by flashlight. Goosebumps The Musical: Phantom of the Auditorium, based on wildly popular books by R. L. Stine, is playing October 30 - November 15, 2026 at the Waldron Auditorium. ​

Constellation will be celebrating the holidays back at the Waldron Arts Center, with the return of its annual Family Holiday Musical. This year’s production is Annie, the beloved story of a tenacious young girl whose unbreakable optimism carries her from a New York City orphanage to a place she can finally call home. A classic that has captured hearts for generations, Annie runs December 10, 2026 – January 3, 2027.

Alongside Annie, the company is creating a brand-new special event, perfect for a holiday night out. Introducing The ConstelLate Show: Holiday Special, Constellation’s very own late-night holiday special – part talk show, part variety show, and completely one-of-a-kind. Running throughout the holidays with brand-new guests each night, this joyful evening brings together local luminaries, performers, and personalities. Complete with cameras and live monitors, audiences won’t just watch the show—they’ll feel like they’re part of the broadcast. Playing December 17 - 27, 2026 in the Waldron Firebay, The ConstelLate show is a can’t-miss, uniquely Bloomington experience. While this production is a special event and not included in Season Ticket Packages, pass holders will receive early access to tickets.

Constellation will ring in the new year with a timeless classic, Amy Herzog’s Tony-nominated adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s masterpiece: An Enemy of the People. When a small-town doctor discovers a catastrophe that risks the lives of everyone in town, he raises the alarm. But he is shaken to his core when those in power, including his own brother, not only try to silence him—they try to destroy him. Called “a play for our time” by The Hollywood Reporter, this gripping story of truth, power, and the price of speaking out is playing February 4 - 21, 2027 at the Waldron Auditorium.

This spring, Constellation brings the United States premiere of Mojo & Jimmy: The Totally Awesome Magic Show to the PB&J Cafe, Constellation’s Dinner Theater for Kids. Originally developed at Constellation, the show went on to delight audiences at the Edinburgh and Adelaide Fringe Festivals, earning rave reviews before returning home to Bloomington. Created by World Champion of Magic Simon Coronel and America's Got Talent Semi-Finalist Dom Chambers, Mojo & Jimmy is a joyful celebration of friendship, imagination, and the power of working together. See it at the Waldron Auditorium March 26 - April 11, 2027. 

Closing out the Mainstage season is Sandy Rustin’s hilarious farce: The Cottage. When Sylvia decides to expose her latest affair to both her husband—and her lover’s wife, an idyllic English countryside getaway turns into a wildly improper disaster. Called “Broadway's Sensational Side-Splitting Screwball Comedy” by Entertainment Weekly, The Cottage is playing May 13-30, 2027 at the Waldron Auditorium.

This season, Constellation is introducing the Stage Door Circle - A Sunday Playgoing Club for Women of All Ages! This growing group of local theater lovers attends first Sunday afternoon performances of Constellation’s Mainstage series shows and gathers together after each show for an afterglow social reception. To get involved, participants should complete the registration form available on Constellation’s website.

Season Ticket Packages for Constellation’s 26/27 season are on sale now! Package holders get the biggest discount on tickets offered all season long, early access to the best seats in the house, missed performance insurance, and an exemption from all ticketing fees - including exchange fees (usually $5 per ticket). New this season, Constellation is also offering season ticket holders free upgrades to premium seats. In an effort to ensure that anyone in our community can experience a professional production, Constellation is thrilled to announce the return of its celebrated Pay What You Will Thursdays and Community Access Tickets programs. Pay What You Will Thursdays are available for all Mainstage shows, including the second Thursday performance of Annie on Thursday, December 17 at 7:00pm. Generously sponsored by Jessika and Bryan Hane, these initiatives ensure professional live theater is affordable to everyone in South Central Indiana.

Constellation will also be offering two Sensory-Friendly performances as part of its Constellation for Kids series. These special performances are designed to create a theater experience that is welcoming to all families with children with autism or other sensory sensitivities.
