Incumbent US Representative Erin Houchin (R) the winner of the Democratic primary. The primary election will be May 5th and there are four democrats up to the challenge.

Primary Candidate: Dr. Tim Peck (D)
Dr. Tim Peck is a physician-leader, health tech entrepreneur, teacher, husband, father, and patient advocate. Dr. Peck chose Indiana because of the values it represents--hard work, community, and a commitment to making a better future for the next generation. He chose Indiana not just as a place to grow, but as a place to invest in, to build a life and family, and to contribute to the growth and well-being of this incredibly community. Dr. Peck's campaign is guided by 4 principles: perseverance; find common ground; serve all citizens; and act now.

Primary Candidate: Brad Meyer (D)
Brad Meyer is a 7th generation Hoosier and grew up in Brownsburg. He graduated from Purdue where he studied Electronics Engineering, then spent 25 years in local manufacturing. Meyer wants to protect the economy and end policies that keep people living paycheck to paycheck. He believes Healthcare is a human right and Hoosiers should have access to affordable, quality healthcare. Finally, he believes in defending the Constitution and safeguarding democracy, that equal justice, and civil liberties are for all Americans. Public education should be protected; polluters should be prevented from polluting and held accountable to the damage they have done.

Primary Candidate: Keil Roark (D)
Keil Roark was born in Elkton, MD and currently lives in New Albany, Indiana with his wife and 4 children. He earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue and later completed a MS in Financial Engineering from University of Michigan while he was working full-time. He also earned an MS of Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisville and an MA in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. He spent 20+ years as an engineer in the private sector, was an Adjunct Instructor at Ivy Technical Community College, and spent 11 years serving in the Navy on both active duty and reserve. After serving his country, he wants to serve his community.

Primary Candidate: Jim Graham (D)
Jim Graham grew up on small farms in Martin and Monroe counties in Sothern Indiana. He and his wife, Cheryl, have been residents of Clark County since 2003. They have one son, David, who lives in Louisville. Graham studied engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and worked for General Motors, Delco-Remy Division on advanced auto-emissions control systems. He did graduate studies and completed a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Purdue University in 1980. After earning his doctoral degree, he taught engineering at Purdue, at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and at the J.B. Speed School at the University of Louisville. Graham’s dad was the Monroe County Surveyor for many years and sparked his interest in service through running for political office.

US House District 9 General Election Against Republican Incumbent: November 5th, 2026
Candidate: Erin Houchin (R) (i)
Erin Houchin received her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and holds a Master’s degree in Political Management from The George Washington University. She previously represented the 47th District in the State Senate since 2014, which included all of Crawford, Orange, Harrison, Perry and Washington counties, and the eastern half of Dubois County. She has held several leadership roles in Indiana. In 2014-2022, she served in the Indiana State Senate. Proving herself as a committed conservative Hoosier, she was elected to the US House of Representatives in 2023.
