The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce it is now accepting nominations for the 14th Annual Women Excel Bloomington (WEB). Each year, several women are recognized for their outstanding leadership in influencing the growth of others in the community and/or in their professional organization. WEB has a history of recognizing local, civic-minded women from various backgrounds and professions who mentor others and lead by example. Through their actions and initiatives, these women serve as an inspiration and demonstrate outstanding leadership in all they do. These prestigious business leadership awards will be presented at the WEB Awards reception scheduled for Thursday, August 22nd at One World at Woolery Mill. WEB nominees serve as an inspiration, helping others to excel as they lead by example. They may be employed in either the business sector or a non-profit organization. Other criteria include:
"The Women Excel Bloomington Awards highlight the incredible achievements of women who make a significant impact in our community," said Eric Spoonmore, President and CEO of the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. "These women not only excel in their professional roles but also inspire others through their dedication and leadership. We look forward to honoring their contributions and celebrating their successes." Nominations may be submitted on the Chamber’s website (chamberbloomington.org/webnominations). A nomination form is also available online or by calling the Chamber at (812) 336-6381. All nominations should be submitted to the Chamber on or before Monday, July 1, 2024 at 5:00p.m.

This year marks the debut of the Valor Awards, a distinguished ceremony brought to you by the Exchange Club of Northside Bloomington in partnership with the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. The ceremony is dedicated to honoring the bravery and selflessness of our first responders—firefighters, law enforcement, dispatch, and correctional center officers. Set to spotlight these everyday heroes, the Valor Awards will recognize one individual from each sector for their exemplary service. The event, proudly presented by Old National Bank and Weddle Brothers, will unfold at the Monroe Convention Center on Wednesday, May 8th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Nominations were solicited from Monroe County entities in four categories: law enforcement, fire, dispatch, and correctional center, with an outside selection committee tasked with reviewing submissions. The winners of each category will be announced during the awards presentation. The following individuals have been nominated in recognition for their outstanding service:
The MCCSC Equity Spotlight Award is an award that recognizes students, faculty, staff, student organizations and community partners for their commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment reflective of MCCSC's mission, vision, and core values. Katie Sensabaugh, Director of the Chamber's Foundation & Internal Operations, was awarded the MCCSC Equity Spotlight Award by the the Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Markay Winston, at the school board meeting on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Sensabaugh was selected for this award because of her valuable service, leadership, and dedication to shaping the future workforce and providing opportunities for ALL students. On June 15, 2021, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce was awarded with two Innovative Excellence Awards at the annual Indiana Chamber Executives Association (ICEA) Conference, one for the PPE Program and the other for the Back2Business Conference.
We are excited to announce that The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce is a top 10 Indiana Chamber Executives Association (ICEA) Outstanding Chamber of the Year Finalist! The Outstanding Chamber of the Year Award recognizes organizational excellence in chambers of commerce and provides a unique benchmarking opportunity to assess a chamber’s strengths. The award is based on the U.S. Chamber’s accreditation process for local chambers and highlights accomplishments in the areas of leadership/governance, finance, advocacy and membership development.
